31st Annual Crime Prevention Guide - 31e Guide annuel de la prévention du crime 21 FREDERICTON POLICE FORCE FORCE POLICIÈRE DE FREDERICTON The Fredericton Police Force, as well as the community it protects, are still recovering from the tragedy of August 10, 2018. As we mourn the loss of Cst. Sara Burns and Robb Costello, we are still providing the city with a high level of service response while attempting to care for and protect the members suffering from our loss. Our Force is very grateful to the people of our city, as well as surrounding areas, who have supported and embraced us during this difficult time and we also feel a great deal of appreciation for all of the police members from other jurisdictions who took over for us the week after the incident, as well as attended the regiment funeral for Sara and Robb. 2018 was an exceptionally busy year, with many high profile investigations including several robberies, drug and firearm seizures, home invasions, stabbings, two attempted murder files, as well as a homicide investigation involving a victim located out of our jurisdiction. We have also adopted a new body cam program, which is currently being rolled out to the front lines and have been using the new TAV emergency response vehicle on several high-risk calls, making response for our ERT team safer and more efficient. Our agency is prepared for what 2019 brings and are looking forward to putting 2018 in the rear view mirror. Sgt. Sean Clark NCO/ic Major Crimes UBC Local 911 President Fredericton City Police Force
